Who We Serve

PALO, through its member centers serves the 500,000 Latinos that have made Pennsylvania their home. This population, at a conservative rate of growth, will double in six years.

Management Capacity

The Board of Directors of PALO is composed of business, finance, nonprofit, education, and government leaders from across the Commonwealth. As such, there is a wealth of experience in the governing board in terms of operating successful grant funded programs as well as a wide range of cultural knowledge, program and fiscal management expertise, and fundraising skill that is easily shared.

Margaret D. Barajas, MA is the President & CEO of PALO .  Ms. Barajas brings over 15 years of nonprofit management and program development experience to PALO. A second generation Mexican American, her program areas of expertise include bilingual / bicultural program development and administration; at risk youth; early childhood education; adult basic education; community and economic development; technology education; violence prevention and intervention, and housing and homelessness.
Ms. Barajas has successfully administered over $17 million in public and privately funded programs through large and small non profit organizations.

Fiscal services are contracted through the Spanish American Civic Association, (SACA), which has a solid 30 year reputation for community financial management and reporting.
